dAHLer PERFORMANCE SPRINGS for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid

Performance Lowering Springs are the first step in suspension performance enhancement. A dAHLer lowering kit for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid cars is a performance spring set created for the serious enthusiast.

A sports spring set with the lowest possible drop but with the exceptional ride quality you expect from a high-class tuner like dAHLer .

Using progressive spring technology to lower the vehicle’s center of gravity. This proprietary progressive design delivery, both a smooth softer initial spring rate for exceptional ride quality combined with a stiffer final rate for high performance handling of your BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid car.

The benefits of a lower stance are many. Let’s begin with the performance advantages of a dAHLer sports spring set installed in your BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid. A dAHLer lowering spring equipped BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid car will exhibit reduced body roll in corners as well as reduce squat during acceleration and diminish nosedive under braking.

Another performance advantage that is often overlooked is the reduced drag coefficient. A dAHLer sports spring set for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid cars provides the ultimate balance between high performance, extreme lowering and comfortable ride quality.

A dAHLer sports spring set for BMW and BMW M cars also reduces the excessive fender gap and when combined with our dAHLer CDC1 aluminum or FORGED wheels, the result is a BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid car that handles just as hot as it looks for driving to a whole new level.

It’s the drive that pushes racers to the very edge of their abilities, it’s the same drive that pushes us to create nothing but the very best.

Our technology partner stores around 4,000 types of springs steel wire as rods or as coils. Generally, there are two ways of shaping wire into a lowering spring for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid cars: Winding and coiling.

The first is winding, this method is used for wire with a diameter up to 26 millimeters (1 inch). The spring steel wire is mostly pre hardened. The reeling is done on a CNC driven machine. Our technology partner’s specialists need experience to make sure that the springs match the design exactly as the material properties of the spring steel may vary.

If it was simply programmed into the machine, the machine would produce a different spring out of every coil. The spring rate is the ratio of spring load and deflection and depends on the material used and also the dimensions, the diameter of both wire and a spring. The number of coils, the distance between them or the thickness of the base at the ends.

The other way of shaping a spring is coiling. The wire used is up to 55 millimeters (2.2 inches) this and is generally only hardened after it has been coiled. Here the material is wrapped around a metal spike. Coiling is slower than winding and it doesn’t enable as many spring shapes to be made.

But it is also possible to produce smaller diameters and to handle thicker dimensions. Steel up to 32 mm (1.25 inches) in thickness is cold form, thicker steel is hot formed and then hardened and tempered.

We’d like to explain you how we engineer and produce our performance spring sets for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid cars. Why they are so superior and how we give you the best ride you can get.

A lowering kit puts different pressure on each tire to try to get his most amount of mechanical grip you can get out of your BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid car.

With such specific needs you guess at how our lowering springs have to be designed. It is an actual science.

Before we can start to produce our lowering springs for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid cars of course we have to design them. This is where it starts. Our technical guys spend lots of their time taking cars apart. They precisely test and measure the stock springs from BMW cars and start process of determining what each specific BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid car needs in high performance suspension.

From there we develop the design and create a prototype lowering spring. It’s a start but to see if it is up to our performance standards, we simply need to drive it.

We’re determining the BMW car dynamics in both slow and high speed. We’re trying to determine if the lowering kit and handling is effective for street and performance ride.

Our first big choice in producing a lowering spring set for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid cars is picking exactly the right composition and diameter of spring steel wire. The world’s best high tensile strength pre hardened aluminum spring steel for a sport spring set.

This spring steel will be feed into machines belong with a precise design information. Form that the machine winds its first lowering spring for BMW cars.

A first test spring runs through the complete manufacturing process. Then experts examine the result and then often fine-tune some of the design parameters.
Whenever the lowering springs for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid need a flat top or bottom their ends around that is difficult and time-consuming because you need to keep the lowering springs dead axis center in the coil. If the axis were a little off the lowering spring for BMW cars, it would create a side mode under pressure.

What looks like a spring does not behave like a performance spring. The spring steel is twisted form the coiling procedure and the outside surface is unprotected.
So, by tenting the material of crystals in the steel aluminum form new molecular bonds making the lowering spring for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid cars stronger.

Next comes a rather rough massage. Every single lowering spring for BMW, BMW M, BMW Plug-in Hybrid and BMW Mild Hybrid cars will be subject to a huge shot peening machine, inside millions of tiny steel balls pummeled the spring like small forging hammers. They strengthen the lowering spring surface and eliminate imperfections that could cause cracking years down the road.
